Teaching and Learning

FE has been completely revamped over the last few years to offer a varied, appropriate and up to date environment for the post 16 students. Functional skills cover CVs, application forms, personal information and life skills as well as mini enterprise schemes to help raise money for the new post 16 build. Options are offered with the students selecting two per year. They evaluate them at the end to see if they are worth doing again. College links have been extended with Transition in mind.

Here are what some of the students (past and present) think:

Rebecca – I like doing different options. I have done health and beauty, animal care and media studies. I get to go to college.

Beth – Sport – ten pin bowling, bikes, college. Crazy golf is best

Emily – I went work. I worked in Dobbies’ cafe, a nursing home and an hotel. My favourite was the Co Op. I worked on the tills and filled shelves.

Samuel – It was like college and I could make my own choices.

I was bouncing on the trampoline. I stretched up high for the ball. I have to stretch first – it is hard. I like bouncing.
